The Secrets Behind Affyn’s NEXUS World Land NFTs, From Idea To Execution.
Two hours and nine minutes were all it took for 2,000 plots of NEXUS World Land to sell out. The geolocation-based Land, which maps to actual locations in the first metaverse City — Singapore, are now on full display on OpenSea. The maps are 100% based on the actual cities, and each plot of Land is represented by a hexagonal tile of 15,047.5 square meters (or approximately 65.9 meters per side). These plots of Land in NEXUS World have unique climates and environment, and Features such as shops, rest areas, and arcades.
The Art team in Affyn dedicated countless hours and resources into ensuring every inch of the Land NFT was carefully thought out. A total of 9.8 billion NEXUS World Land NFTs, each with unique details, were created. Their spectacular designs sparked a huge buzz amongst the community.
Laying the groundwork to generate 9.8 billion NFTs in 3 months
Leading the Art team in Affyn is Art Director, Allex Cheng. Upon understanding the complexity and challenges that laid ahead, coupled with a very short timeline, Allex conceived a masterplan. He worked closely with the people in Affyn so everyone’s voices and opinions could be taken into consideration during the planning stage, which helped expedite the process. Setting a guideline for how Affyn envisioned the Land NFT collection’s look and feel was crucial to productively generating the first batch.
Understanding the specifications required in each Land
NEXUS World is made up of hexagonal plots of Land and each one houses its own environment and ecosystem and have different combinations of Features, in turn giving each plot of Land a different Land category. The rarity level of each plot of Land also determines the quantity and variety of Features that appear. The Art team had to produce more than 500 pieces of artwork and experiment with many methods of layering to ensure that each of the 9.8 billion possible combinations looked stunning.
Understanding the needs of each Biome was also important in ensuring conceptual ideas and stories remain consistently aligned with Affyn’s vision and core message as a brand. Creating a mood board with detailed themes for each Biome played an important factor before going into production, mainly to avoid designing each plot of Land too randomly. Therefore, more references were collected to establish the final aesthetic of each Biome. For each Biome to stand out visually, these strategies were the parameters:
#1 — Using of complimentary colors that tells a story
#2 — Complexed and detailed designs that tells a story
#3 — Distinguishing the silhouette
#4 — Understanding color combination
Utilizing NEXUS World Land Art NFTs
Each NEXUS World Land NFT has its own unique corresponding geolocation in the real world and can be identified by a Cell ID and its real world latitude and longitude coordinates. Land NFTs can eventually be utilized in the NEXUS World metaverse. When you claim a plot of Land in a City Launch, it will be directly minted into your wallet to become an NFT with its own unique artwork. Once the NFT is minted, you are free to list, trade, buy or sell your Land on OpenSea or other NFT marketplaces.
