BUILDING AFFYN’S PLAY-AND-EARN METAVERSE GAME AND ECOSYSTEM ON POLYGON’S NETWORK

We recently announced our collaboration with Polygon Studios in June 2022 to build a play-and-earn metaverse game and ecosystem. Affyn has chosen Polygon to be the network on which we will scale the development of NEXUS World and support the play-and-earn vision that Affyn is built on. $FYN, Affyn’s native currency, is also a token on the Polygon network. With that said, here are the reasons why we believe Polygon is the perfect network for us.

Why did Affyn choose Polygon?

Before deciding on Polygon, we looked into Ethereum, Binance, and Polygon networks. After weighing the pros and cons, we selected Polygon, a “layer two” or “sidechain” scaling solution that runs alongside the Ethereum blockchain — allowing for speedy transactions and low fees.

Polygon has also gained popularity among brands and developers seeking to escape the high transaction fees on the other networks. Its solutions have seen widespread adoption, with 19K+ Dapps offering a range of fast, secure, affordable, and energy-efficient Ethereum scaling solutions.

First, Polygon combines Ethereum and sovereign blockchains into a full-fledged multi-chain system. It allows for the easy and uncomplicated building of blockchain networks. Furthermore, Polygon connects Ethereum-compatible blockchain networks and solves the scalability issues on the current Ethereum network. In other words, Polygon is unique in this sense as it is not trying to overtake Ethereum but instead supports and guides it.

Second, Polygon also uses Proof of Stake (POS), which is more eco-friendly than Proof of Work (POW) because it requires less energy to verify transactions. Polygon has garnered a global validators base of 100, and with that high amount of validators who do the heavy lifting in producing blocks, it processes 65,000 transactions per second (TPS) while others process at a lower transactions per second (TPS).

Third, Polygon is fully compatible with the Ethereum Virtual Machine (EVM), which all of our smart contracts rely on. This gives us the edge to scale up by utilizing the unique features of Polygon’s network while maintaining valued security and decentralization. It also has the lowest gas fees.

What is Affyn building?

We’re building a blockchain-powered free-to-play, play-and-earn metaverse mobile game “NEXUS World” with integrated geolocation and augmented reality where the virtual and real worlds meet. With Polygon as the blockchain network, Affyn and its users will benefit from the low gas fees, high TPS (Transactions Per Second), EVM compatibility (Ethereum Virtual Machine), and a conducive ecosystem and environment.

Polygon provides a simpler, seamless framework for building interconnected networks, which perfectly aligns with Affyn’s goals. Combining this with the fact that just a few weeks back, our Gen Zero Buddies were sold in 100 seconds and claimed the number two spot in the Polygon NFTs on Opensea, making our move towards using the Polygon network even more exciting.
